In addition to the hustle and bustle of end of year celebrations, my favourite thing about this time of the year is parties. Getting dressed to impress and set out on the town.
This year, I am channeling the 40's. Starting with this lovely leading lady on the silver screen.
From her inspiration, I have conjured up this outfit.

Clutch from Aldo Accessories, a while ago
Velvet gown from Le Chateau, a while ago
Choker from Versace for H&M collection, recent
Fur Shawl from Talize

I love the silhouette of a full length gown. It has such understated elegance, yet it makes a big statement.
In addition to that extra sparkle of the Versace for H&M logo choker. Adds just the right amount of glitter. Not over powering but enhances the whole look.

I love my hair. The owner of Impulse Hair and Nail Salon is a friend of mine from highschool. She is meticulous and skillful. I have never left feeling disappointed. Any special occasion, if possible, I will always seek her magic.
The finishing touch has to be this beautiful vintage fur shawl.

Again, Talize comes through. This is one of my most prized finds from there.
Now I am ready to set out on the town.
But wait, this joyous occasion cannot be complete without my true companion. He's featured in the "About" page. Not only is he an instrumental part of this site, he is also my one and only. I feel truly blessed to have him by my side.
On him, Zara Euro cut silver suit. Best part, it was on sale.
Calvin Klein dress shirt. It was also on sale from the Seattle Premium Outlets.
Brown loafers from Nordstrom Rack.
Proving that men can look great on a budget as well
The trick though, is tailoring.

ReplyDeleteHow beautiful are you! You two make a very handsome couple! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this look on you, everyone tends to go short and cocktail-dressy for holiday parties, but I'm loving the long black dress and the edgy gold. The fur is beautiful too!
