Work outfits of the day

Instagram is saving me these days. Oh, feel free to follow me on Instagram under PoserSeries. I would be oh so happy.

Step aside DSLR, looks like my unexpected iPhone is earning its keep quite fast.

Here are my work outfits captured by my palm sized super machine.

aritzia top from twice loved, versace for h&m logo skirt, funky tights, gucci purse, work outfit, spring outfit

I love this outfit. Since I bought the skirt I have not worn it because it is a little hard to style. But it worked really well with these pieces since it shows off the skirt perfectly.

Outfit: Aritzia top from Twice Loved
Versace for H&M skirt
Gucci purse

romwe high low skirt and romwe tights, romwe, forever21 top, aritzia cardigan

I did not originally wear this skirt to work. The package of the skirt and tights et. al. arrived on that same day.

When I got to work, I realize they went amazingly well with the rest of my outfit and voila.

Outfit: romwe.com hi lo skirt from this post
Romwe.com tights
Forever21 top, old
Aritzia cardigan, old

Finally, we have what I cm wearing today.

obakki sheer silk shirt, bcbgeneration necklace

Today is probably the only day that I am dressed in a traditional business casual outfit. Since the rest of the outfit is not super exciting, I chose to showcase this necklace.

From BCBGeneration collection, it is absolutely amazing. I love the drama it adds to a plain outfit.

Almost the weekend. It's going to be sunny tomorrow, hope you all will have a chance to enjoy it.

Versace for H&M wishlist

The impending release date of the Versace for H&M collaboration is soon to drop in Canada. November 19th to be exact.
Since I have to work on Saturday, I probably will not be able to join in on the fun. But maybe I can make something happen.

These are the items I have been drooling over since the get go.

My Versace or HM wishlist

Prices
Studded Purse, $199.00
Mesh bracelet, $34.95
Logo necklace, $59.95
Silk dress, $199.00
Pants, $34.95
Jacket, $349.00
Belt, $129.00
Suede boots, $179.00

The collection is super fun. Maybe I will be able to squeeze in a visit before I have to work? But after reading the how to shop section on H&M's website, my plan might be foiled after all.

Fashionista.com is a great source for all the latest fashion news.

Today, they posted a great article on designer collaboration with mass retailers.

In summary, the success of these collaborations is not measured in dollars, but rather media coverage and attention. They work as massive advertising campaigns for both the label and the retailer.

I personally think these collaborations are generally a good idea. Take for instance this particular one. H&M's e-commerce site crashed the moment the line was made available. I believe the frenzy will spread to Canada on the 19th as well.

Of course many of these pieces will end up on e-bay, when the patience of waiting for hours in the cold gets rewarded monetarily. Oh, and of course, you will also own a piece of fashion history.

The collection will come and go, but the effects will be everlasting. H&M will have added another designer name to their repertoire, and Versace would have gained many potential buyers.

So, how do I get myself some of that fabulous studded edge?

The Night, Concrete and Feathers

Sometimes, inspiration comes when you are rummaging through your accessory drawer. These are some old favourites and new additions. I think they went together beautifully.

Feather hair comb, dropping form design, Chanel inspired gold chain quilted cross body, hot topic tights, banana republic embroidered floral jacket, Street Style

Necklace, second hand from The Spree

Tights from Hot Topic in Bellis Fair Mall

Embroidered floral jacket from Banana Republic purchased from Talize

Vintage Fashion, Thrift Fashion, Street Style, Style, Jasmine wearing, Chanel inspired golden quilted tassel purse gold chain, feather hair piece by dropping forms design, second hand wood and metal and plastic chunky statement necklace, Street StyleThe hair piece is absolutely stunning. The artist's attention to detail is amazing. Each element is expertly combined. This particular comb blends in well with my hair. Though I also want some with different colours that would stand out. It is a super fun piece that adds a touch of whimsical to any outfit. It can also be a great steam punk accessory.

The combination of woods, plastic and metal on the chunky necklace is amazing. The colour combination makes me feel like fall. But the gold flecks resonates with a clear fall day. I love clear sunny fall days.

Vintage Fashion, Thrift Fashion, Street Style, Style, Jasmine wearing, Gold embroidered floral Banana Republics Jacket, Chanel inspired golden quilted tassel purse, velvet skirt, hop topics tights, suede boots, second hand wood and metal and plastic chunky statement necklace, Street StyleThe top (purchased from the Spree) is really sheer. It is not something to be worn out without solid bottoms. But I did not want to replace those tights with solid leggings. Instead, I decided to layer the look with a black velvet tube top that I worn as a skirt. It adds more texture to the outfit as well.

These tights are super fun. I saw them at Hot Topic during a recent Seattle trip. The store was littered with Twilight posters and reminded me ever so of that South Park episode.

Talize rarely does me wrong. Every trip brings delightful finds. These boots are no different. I really like the suede and the wedge heel. Adding height and preserving comfort.

I had no idea Banana Republic made such a colourful line. The three quarter sleeves makes it a good spring and fall transition jacket. The golden thread used to embroider the flowers is the cherry on top of this fun outfit finisher.

The concrete juxtaposes this whole outfit. The soft and feminine shape and texture of the top contrasts nicely to the texture of the concrete wall. This shoot was all about contrasts.

The night engulfs the light of day.

When the party has faded away.

In the jungle of concretes, all I have are my feathers.

The gold flecks clings to life.

Hoping for the sun to shine.
