Evan Ducharme ICONOCLAST FW2014
Vancouver isn't always known as a fashion mecca. Hopefully effort will soon change that.
But on a night like this I feel truly blessed to be apart of this beautiful city to celebrate a talented local talent.
Evan Ducharme showcased his newest made to measure collection of versatile pieces that included separates, outerwear and evening wear. The coolest part, all these pieces are unisex.
I personally am a huge fan of made to measure items. What could be better than something made just for you?

I would totally wear the tulle ball gown.

Nicole Bridger :: You're Not Alone :: EFW07
Nicole Bridger is a Vancouver based eco fashion designer focused on women's clothing. Every season, her creative fashion show kicks off Eco Fashion Week.
Her installation show last season was the first of Vancouver. This season, echos and builds upon Be, her last show.
Her creative vision creates the perfect back drop to showcase her collection, "You're Not Alone" opened EFW07 with a bang.
There was a special model casting call for androgynous models prior to her show. Since her line aims to celebrate the female figure by offering chic silhouettes, seeing men walk down the runway with her dresses makes a bold impacted.
Her tailoring is always spot on and aims to flatter.
After the show, I had a word with the talented designer and uncovered her inspiration and the message behind this show. You're Not Alone aims to celebrate humanity. Deep down, we are all the same, we don't have to be treading through life feeling lonely. We can do what we want and be who we want to be, transcend the boundaries of gender. The models also double up at the beginning of the runway, face each other and take a moment to connect with each other. The act further solidifies the message of you're not alone. We are all fellow earthlings, we should support each other, judge less, love more and help each other become who we are meant to be.
Stay tuned for more Eco Fashion Week coverage.

la couleur couture - My Favourite Non Toxic and Vegan friendly Nailpolish
For centuries we have been painting and polishing our nails so we would look amazing from tip to toe.
Originating in China dating back to 3000 B.C. nail polish is now a $768 million industry in the US. Hard to image it started out as a blend of organic material and natural dyes that ladies would soak their fingers in to achieve the desired effect.
Now, with a dizzying array of colours, hues, textures and designs, it's no wonder a not so simple bottle of polish can round off that fashionable look.
I have been painting my nails for years and have grown more and more concerned over the toxicity and chemical content of these tiny pots of paints. There have been a couple of occasions where I felt slightly light headed at the end of a paint session.
Needless to say I was over the moon when I discovered La Couleur Couture.
la couleur couture is a unique vegan friendly nail lacquer collection formulated without toxic and harsh chemicals like formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, dibutyl phthalate, camphor and toluene.
Their unique basecoat formula ensures long lasting protection, while their topcoat offers unmatched diamond-like shine. Each polish contains a protective UV inhibitor so women can wave goodbye to brittle and yellow nails, and say hello to gorgeously coloured and healthy nails!
Headquartered in Vancouver and manufactured in New York, la couleur couture is devoted to providing you with couture-quality, fashion-forward and edgy colors that are affordable, vegan friendly and cruelty free.
All these colours are so wearable and fabulous. I couldn't wait to put them on.
Having tried several different brands of nail polish, fussed over the formula and struggled with the brush I must say LACC is a god send.
The polish itself glides on effortlessly, not goopy nor runny, just the perfect consistency.
The brush is amazing! The right size and tension to deliver the perfect application in one stroke.
I am seriously tempted to save one of the brushes and only paint with that no matter what polish I use. Not that I will need to considering the wide breadth of this collection. Shop them here http://laccbeauty.com/shop/
So versatile too.
